There are many myths surrounding cancer and cigar smoking and we would be doing ourselves a disservice if we did not make ourselves aware of the health risks. Smoking cigars is bad for our health.
Yes, it is easy to dismiss the health risks and say that we do not inhale so we will not get cancer; but that is only partly true. We may not be at high risk from lung cancer if we don't inhale, but we are at risk from mouth and lip cancer. We can tell ourselves that we only have a cigar occasionally, but, as with a cigarette smoker, nicotine is nicotine. Even the occasional nicotine can cause cancer, and for the cigar smoker, the concentrations of nicotine can be as high, if not higher, than if we smoked a pack of cigarettes for each cigar we smoke.
When it comes to health issues it is not enough to listen to what others have to say about the dangers of cigar smoking. Some people believe there is not any danger at all. Make sure you know about the health risks before you continue to smoke.
